     Ok so a logarithm is like the inverse of a power. If you have 2^x, and you want to solve for x, you can surround it with the function log of base 2. So, log_2(2^x) = x. You can do that for any number. log_10(100) = 2, because 100 = 10^2.
     
     e is a special number which is approximately equal to 2.71. It's what you get when you have the formula (1 + 1/oo)^oo. The natural log is log base e, and is denoted with ln. So, if we have e^2, then ln(e^2) = 2.
