A big consoomerist trait that I just don't like is the idea that media characters are our precious uwu babies that must be saved from the evil writers/creators.
I've seen ppl unironically say Rick and Morty will get be better just because Justin Roiland left or just flat out deny his voice acting is what made the characters.
Or Chihiro from Danganronpa and how because he's "supposed" to be trans but isn't so the publisher doesn't get to be taken seriously anymore and actually guys Danganronpa belongs to us now.
Like shows have jumped the shark with or without the key ppl behind it and I'm not saying fans can't criticize media.
It's the entitled "uhm this didn't play out exactly how I want and I personally dislike the creator so we're just gonna take away the characters like we're CPS."
Cuz media just doesn't exist for entertainment or to make you feel something; it exists so you can imprint your identity to it. So you can consoom merch and worship the characters like idols. To forever be re-imagined, re-invented, reborn until the original essence is lost and all that is left are husks on alter that mirrors it's disciples.
Cuz what is modern fandom if not self-worship.
