   @billyanders It’s a good point but also, since he gives İstanbul as an example, it’s important to point out that “intellectuals” in Turkey that dare criticise Erdoğan continue their discourse in prison. (Said as an ex-Turkish citizen who cannot go back to the land of his birth since he criticised said president and his regime publicly*.)
