   I know this sounds bad, but holy hell how have standards in streaming content fallen so much? Every time something piques my interest I turn it on only to hear:
   
   - Dogshit audio quality, like someone's calling in from a landline at the train station.
   
   - Embarrassing, retarded speaking issues, like disabilities, pathologies, and disfigurements
   
   - Cringe-sounding voices that make you ashamed to share a hobby with them
   
   - Coughing into the microphone
   
   - Eating into the mic, then going overboard and doing it even worse when people complain. (*great* joke, dude, that's *hilarious*)
   
   - Smoking into the mic so people hear your bongwater, or burping and laughing about how gross it sounds
   
   - No good microphone, streaming on airpods or phone headsets as if that's adequate.
   
   - No audio mastery for pre-recorded stuff. I've seen full-on million-dollar operations "master" their shit by booting up imovie on the intern's macbook and hitting the "autofix" while listening to their video through the stock laptop speakers

     It’s one thing if you’re just making content for fun, or passion to fill out a niche interest. But I’ll look at these people’s channels and see that THIS is supposed to be their career! Imagine paying that much attention while fancying yourself a self-employed man.

     Very cool, abysmal quality control and a total lack of an audience’s POV will undoubtedly take you far, youtuber! Well done! Make sure you beg for superchats and then NEVER do any show prep, that’s a real fun thing for people to watch

     I know I’m being mean and venting, but I actually root for people to put out good content. I’m happy to see it whenever it appears. It’s rare, and people are desperate for it. I just see a lot of laziness in the ‘creator’ class, and it drives me up the wall.

     Also it’s really grossing me out how every time I click on something it’s some guy who sounds like a retard. Sorry bucko, but if you’ve got a voice that’s hard to listen to you need to put the work in to address it. It’s not your audience’s job to overlook your disabilities.

     @berkberkman EVERYTHING. Streams, pre-recordeds, shorts, the whole thing. Every time I click on something new I’m immediately met with issues that these people - who, keep in mind, expect to become full-time content creators living off their material - are too self-absorbed to notice.

     As a professional you need to retain the ability to take a step back and see yourself like a client, that’s how you prevent issues and keep them coming back for more. Unfortunately, everyone trying to be an e-celeb will always have lolcow blood in them, so they’ll rarely be able to self-eval like that.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot My pet peeve is gaming streams constantly being interrupted and derailed by the streamers shouting out donators and hyping up donation chains and other shit.
     
     Nigger, that shit isn't remotely hype to anyone but you and those particular paypigs who gave you money, and who are practically paying you to NOT stream the game at that point. Sane people will soon click X at that point.

     The bar for streaming/being a "content" "creator" has never been lower yet everyone headbutts it until it breaks and they're allowed through because viewers' standards are abysmal.

     @echo @ChristiJunior We were so close to greatness, too. The idea that people could devote themselves to creation entirely SHOULD mean we’re getting better stuff than ever. Instead we’re getting weirdoes.

     It’s like, everyone who does streaming/vids (basically the same thing now) is the guy in the group who’s high-energy and hungry for approval, but he’s maybe the 3rd or 4th funniest guy around.

     You REALLY want the first 3, you’d say “dude you should stream, you’re so funny, I’d totally listen to a show by you guys!”. But instead, you get the 4th trying to carry the show all alone.

     @echo @WashedOutGundamPilot There have been streamers who used to be "pro players" and who, thanks to the people who supported them during tournaments also supporting their streaming career, ended up completely ditching their original pro player career and just becoming full-time streamers, because it pays more and is less demanding. Congrats paypigs, thanks to your support you now get NONE of the content you actually came here for.

     Everyone is atomized and alone, working long hours to survive. Having an earbud in, making it seem like you’re just hanging out and joking around with likable people is a huge part of why people do streaming.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot That is really simple actually. Most people want to become content creators but are either too low iq (and not entertaining enough to get around that. I show speed is a good example because his whole gimmick is that he's a funny retarded nigger) or too lazy to put in the effort to really analyze how good content works, viral or not. If you don't autistically study how content is made you'll just assume that if you do it and stick to it you'll eventually fall into where you need to be, an obvious mistake most people make because their heart isn't fully in it.
