The torrent client rankings are in, and of course the best client is number 1!
Good to see that the pirate (or Linux/BSD depending on what you use torrents for) community is still as based as it has always been. https://social.076.moe/url/28907

Is rTorrent really that good? I used Transmission, but ended up using qBitTorrent because Transmission wasn't checking files correctly. I found multiple unfinished downloads with broken files, that were marked as 100%, and even manually telling it to check the files didn't work, so I had to delete the broken files and restart the download. Seems like it was caused by closing the client while there were downloads in progress. I was hoping that Transmission 4 fixed that, since it's a total rewrite. Maybe I should try rTorrent, though, and see if it does that.

rtorrent is a TUI application.
It takes some configuration and getting used to, but once I started using it, I never went back to Transmission again.

I just use rtorrent-ps, it's basically like regular rtorrent, but with colors, so you won't get your brain paralyzed from looking at how far your download is completed.

There's also an Emacs front-end (Mentor), just like there is one for Transmission. Of course there is, I'd be more surprised if there wasn't. Says that it's still incomplete, though.

I'll use it. Seems like less of a gamble than going back to Transmission after waiting for the rewrite. It probably checks files correctly. Also, I just remembered why I didn't try it. I installed it at one point, but it came without a man page, so I didn't even bother. Isn't it great when distributions package software with no documentation at all?
