Social media would be so much better if there was no video or images. Text ony social media would likely be a lot better for society.

Twitter didn't even have images, so someone made Twitpic .. then they refused to tell Twitpic to Twitter, then they got sued by Twitter and became a read only archive as part of the settlement.
