In a matter of hours, I experienced the overwhelming intensity of hate speech full of racism, homophobia, nazifascism and antisemitism coming from poa.st, also from admins like @graf@poa.st. Defederating this kindergarten tolerating sociopathic behaviour on a systematic basis was the only logical thing to do in self-defence from these wannabe Illinois nazis. #fediblock #mastoadmin @admin@mastodon.bida.im @nebbia @admin@mastodon.cisti.org @ed @filippodb

  If you do it that way, your users are going to see a whole load of disturbing shit. Oliphant has a set of blocklists you could look at, the bare minimum one gets the worst.

  @fediblock this is exactly my problem. Out of respect for the users of any community I tried to ground my defederating decisions on direct experience in my community and not on lists of other admins. All this situation started from a discussion around a blocklist published here: https://social.platypush.tech/@blacklight/110173216606550825
  Some people reacted with verbal violence to that list and that was the cue for me to defederate their instance, but any advice for a more effective process will be appreciated. 🤗

    Attached: 1 image It's #defederation time! Because insulting the fascist bullies that call you with n/f/j slurs for telling them to put down their guns makes you feel good for a bit. But defederating them, inviting other admins to do the same, and dooming these fascist instances to swim in their own diarrhea isolated from the Fediverse, that's even better. At some point they'll run out of domains to buy and people to harass. Again, I'm not afraid of confronting my ideas with conservatives. Indeed, I've got many conservative friends and I've had interesting discussions with them where we both learned something new. I just have a big personal problem with the fascist scum and their mob bullying techniques. Because nobody learns anything and nobody's mind changes when you bully and resort to personal insults. It's curious how many of those instances are Gab forks. Gab has been humiliated multiple times on the Fediverse, defederated, hacked, and it became the butt of all jokes when they couldn't figure out to put an end to the bleeding of OAuth tokens without closing their own source code (in violation of AGPL), and when we found out that 98% of its accounts were bots. Those human failures really seem to have nothing better to do with their lives and have no decency left to lose. And it looks like they really can't write a line of code on their own and make their own social network without stealing our code and harassing us in our own houses. If they had enough brains to write code, probably they wouldn't be fascist. A last message to the fascist scum: your mentality has expired, and now it's time to get the fuck out and go back to the sewage you belong to, before we make Piazzale Loreto real again. p.s. Not all the instances on this blocklist are explicitly designed to be welcoming to fascists. Some of them have been defederated for porn spam and troll bots. Still, it's a good starting point for a block list that keeps the noise/signal ratio low.

  @Stoat @gubi There's only fifty or so sites on the bare-minimum list... if you are so distrustful of other admins that you don't want to import it, it's not too onerous to look at them all first. (Turn off image retrieval on your browser first, as some of them may have child porn.)
