     kited 3 zombies into a bunch of dogs, then thought i could do the same to this "tough zombie" but he uh caught up with me sooner than i expected and that was that

     @Paultron @fluffy Making cudgels also works pretty well early on, they attack a bit faster than wooden spears iirc. I also recommend trying to make a wooden needle when you start out (or, better, a bone needle if you have access to some bones). Sewing can be extremely useful early on since you can make some bags and clothes pretty easily if you spend a bit of time tearing apart sheets and curtains and stuff like that.
     
     Turning curtains or bedsheets into a makeshift sling is also great for storage early on, but it's pretty hard to fight while wearing one.
