@mekkaokereke @22 I agree on the whole, but I think it is somewhat gendered. There is still this idea that something must be "wrong" with a woman who is very nerdy but only moderately interested in things like fashion. As a teenager 30 years ago, I was bullied heavily by other girls for being nerdy, and I believe this is still a problem even for girls today. On the other hand, I know few nerdy women who would flat out dismiss other women's interest in fashion or celebrity gossip.
