     @dcc @tyler if you get a prescription for a benzo as sleep aid it prevents you from entering the deep sleep state. Sure you fall asleep but never enter REM sleep

     @dcc @tyler maybe I should have added why REM sleep is so important. It's where the most of brain healing process occurs and the most crucial phase of sleep regeneration
     "Rapid eye movement sleep is a unique phase of sleep in mammals and birds, characterized by random rapid movement of the eyes, accompanied by low muscle tone throughout the body, and the propensity of the sleeper to dream vividly. The core body and brain temperatures increase during REM sleep and skin temperature decreases to lowest values."

     @dcc @tyler I was just trying to engage in a conversation. Since 90% of doctors prescribe benzodiazepines when you can’t sleep I thought it was a valid point to add to conversation. I mean it’s the most prescribed medication for sleep deprivation. I am aware the subject was sleep aids but just thought I should add something about another type of sleep aid. The most used one. You know maybe it’s because conversational style is different in Spain than US. Here someone says something snd it’s normal to add another point even if it’s different from the first starting subject. That way the conversation moves around different topics and can last for hours
