Having stopped consuming Soy Wars product in 2017 this clip was my first exposure to any of the TV shows. At first I assumed this was parody but it appears not? Do people actually watch this?

@DK_Dharmaraj looks like an snl skit
-
@DK_Dharmaraj what even happened to cool space samurais fighting? This is just boring to watch

This is the lesson. Don't ever sell out creatively. Hold onto everything until you die, because the alternative is even worse. It's Disney and others taking a big fat shit over what you made to the point nobody will care anymore.
-
@DK_Dharmaraj Is this from the Mandalorian? The show people keep trying to tell me "isn't that bad"?
-
@LouisConde @DK_Dharmaraj yeah, disney completely ruined the concept of the Mandalorians from the books and video games

The thing with Disney Star Wars (and to an extent modern culture) is simple, it has nothing memorable or worthwhile, because making a dialed in snoozefest at best doesn't reward creativity or anything interesting. You knew the original trilogy and even the prequels are good to an extent because you know shit that happened in them even if you never saw them, moreso with all the media made based on a single scene.
There's nothing like the Episode 1 Pod Race, the clone battles from Episode 2, and of course Episode 3's Jedi betrayal plotline, let alone stuff like the attacks on the Death Star in 4/6 and the opening Hoth battle of Episode 5. They didn't just make toys based on them, they made entire video games based off a single sequence in a movie. No really. There were podracing video games, there were RTS and games like Battlefront 1/2 based on the land battles of the prequels and space battles of the original trilogy, and don't get me started on the spinoffs that explored other bits of the series.
Disney Star Wars on the other hand what, milks Baby Yoda merch for fat catladies driving a beat to shit Honda Fit to the grocery store? Sure that might have worked for Cars which was designed to sell toys but the audience was kids and it never was anything more.
