     @dagda My only point is that freedom of speech protections in the USA are a whole lot stronger than in Europe. Hell, they're stronger in the PRC than they are in Europe. @matrix

     @dagda They'd just incarcerate you for life or something, maybe. You're right that the USA will either ruin you entirely or murder you for genuine speech or dissemination they dislike. Of course, unofficially. You mysteriously end up dead. @matrix

     UK has been expanding anti-hatespeech laws, as well as these very peculiar laws about pending court decisions banning discussion of them (Tommy Robinson case).
     Also the EU laws for "digital platform control" are basically state censorship in the internet, just outsourced to "factcheckers" and "trusted flaggers".
     However quantifying freedom of speech is difficult, f. ex. I don't think the bourgeois german state is very likely to kill people (with intent), that's something I would expect US deep state to do much more if your speech is really "dangerous"

     @matrix @adiz in germany only recently. Before that only denying the nazi genocide was outlawed (otherwise you would have to put like a huge chunk of turks in jail), now bad weather in some former soviet satellite state can also be a genocide if the government says so
