He was a First-Century Judean, apparently of the Tribes of Judah and Levi. Prior to the Incarnation, these populations were comprised of both those sets who would reject *and* accept the Messiah. Afterwards, only those that categorically *rejected* the Messiah, became called “Jews”.
Furthermore, He is Himself God, which transcends any and all possible national/genetic constraints.
To me, this is so unbelievably obvious that I have a difficult time taking anyone seriously who calls Him “a Jew”.
