Has anyone else noticed that the same people who are criticizing generative AI for "stealing" people's intellectual property are the same people who were claiming that copyright is an outdated concept, years ago?
You can't have it both ways.

@Alex To be fair, the generative AI could make something that is heavily inspired but not something that would normally be copyright infringing if done by a human.
My game is using a few AI generated assets (text and backgrounds) and they are too generic to be infringing on anyone's copyright.
@georgia @Alex He co-founded Reddit. He deserved everything that happened to him.
@xianc78 I think you very much can have it both ways.
These companies are very blatantly stealing stuff to train their AI on.
With the current copyright system it should get them in trouble or at least given a warning at the very least.
Everyone knows that the reason they're not is just because they're a large corporation and they can do whatever they want.
However everyone believed that the current copyright system is bad and should honestly be removed but as of this time when it's still in place these companies should be held accountable.
@beardalaxy @Mr_NutterButter Except that it isn't just the corporations using AI. Anyone can use it.
@Mr_NutterButter @xianc78 yeah, just because you want a system gone, doesn't mean it's okay for someone to abuse the system that's there. That leaves you in the dust as the little guy.
@xianc78 most people don't like using it.
And that still doesn't change the fact of what was previously mentioned.
