   This is what I love about religions: there is the holy, and then there is the monkey mass of humanity, and the gods refuse to validate humans, who are mostly driven by illusions, pathologies, obsessions, trends, greed, stupidity, and self-destructive impulses.

   Humanity is not good. Some humans are good. Some of them are somewhat damaged. Some even make it through that to have productive and interesting lives.

     I do not recall hatred of children, but definitely a recognition of the lesser intellectual capacity of such.

     The Old Testament god did not like:

     * Democracy
     * Individualism
     * Equality
     * Diversity

     Saner than some of the interpretations of the New Testament prophet.
