For the record, I believe in loving all people of all races, regardless of their strengths and weaknesses. Pointing out that India's culture is a disgusting toilet bowl of abominations, or that Rabbinical Judaism is rooted in false and malicious anti-Christian texts, or that sodomy is a loathsome and depraved practice, this does not nullify the Christian love we are all called to have, it is a necessary calling out of evils which do great harm to humanity. -

Loving them means the opposite of letting them drag down society. It is because I love humanity that I demand betterArdainian Hebrew Israelite likes this. -

@ArdainianRight If certain sides of the Fediverse have taught me anything, it's that sometimes love involves correction. ❤️ Ardainian Hebrew Israelite likes this. -

@ArdainianRight "love" has really been distorted by people who don't understand what the concept is.

@beardalaxy
Love requires a certain level of closeness that involves inevitable discomfort and friction. In an atomized society this level of closeness is no longer something that's forced upon people, so many isolate themselves and keep everyone else at a comfortable distance, rationalized in therapyspeak as "having healthy boundaries." This is of course something that wasn't an option for most people for most of human history, and so you just had to accept the friction that allows actual love to develop.
