fun fact: the reason christopher columbus had so much trouble getting funding for his attempt at reaching asia westwards wasn't because people were flat earthers or something. in fact, it was because people knew the earth was round, and that it was too big for a westward journey to be feasible
so it wasn't "columbus is a round-earther heretic", it was "columbus is a fucking idiot who can't do math"
