     @ApexBoomer @TrevorGoodchild USAID is politically indefensible in the very worst ways, the ninety day pause in grants is nicely timed for the next continuing resolution, although there may be enough RINOs deluded enough to think they can get this rice bowl back. Lindsey Graham for example gets a lot of USAID money.

     Whenever Team A gets back in power ... not entirely sure that'll happen because US politics has become discontinuous, you might substitute counter-revolutionary for that math term ... in any case, if they're really back in power they should have no trouble replacing it.

     But that italicized word is doing a lot of work, will they for example be able to take X back from Musk? The political game has changed and we're ripe for a real Pareto "circulation of elites." See how the Deep State's primary political party has no effective leadership right now, and none foreseeable at this time. Obama including his postulated third term that just ended, he's entirely selfish and has left "his" party in ruins.
