Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think: (thatguyoverthere@shitposter.club)'s status on Friday, 07-Apr-2023 01:07:57 JST Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think: Garden question. I **think** this is broccoli, but I've misidentified younger plants before. It's a volunteer, but the leaves look like a brassica leaf and it's flowers look right. Just looking for someone to confirm. -

Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think: (thatguyoverthere@shitposter.club)'s status on Friday, 07-Apr-2023 01:17:21 JST Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think: @IreTiger I'm pretty sure it's a brassica. It kind of tastes like tastes like broccoli at first, and after a few moments it starts to get a mustard taste. I think @TinyHouse4Life or @Flick was saying that mustard is promiscuous and can mate with a lot of other brassicas so I'm thinking maybe it's a weird mustard broccoli or if not maybe just a weak mustard -

Given you have a lot of them self seeding, it could be some weird cross.

Most of what I've planted has been heirlooms that produce good seed, but I plant in and out of designated areas, and I've let nearly everything go to seed for multiple years in hopes to stock the soil with food and medicine seeds for years to come. Seeing cool tasty brassicas pop up in weird places suggests it's working. :smiley_turtle: -
Flick 🇬🇧 (flick@spinster.xyz)'s status on Friday, 07-Apr-2023 01:34:54 JST Flick 🇬🇧 @thatguyoverthere @IreTiger @TinyHouse4Life It’s not any straight-up variety of broccoli that I know of, usually the tender stem types have bigger leaves.
