   @mark something similar happened when I got my implant: they'd recently upgraded to windows vista, and it was having trouble recognizing the USB x-ray. They tried reconnecting it a couple times and then gave up and just assumed they'd drilled into my jaw at the right angle

     I watched my dental technician dismiss the half screen of news articles that Windows had automatically popped up on the computer that runs the X-ray machine.

     ... Hey folks, maybe this is a good time to start switching software for infrastructure and appliances away from Windows by default.
