If Trump backtracks tariffs tomorrow, that will be the second time (first was between election and taking office, the previous DXY rally).
How many times can Orange Retard trick the markets until his bluff is called? One more?
@IAMAL_PHARIUS thoughts?-

@IAMAL_PHARIUS Obviously there's something he wants to accomplish and he's using tariffs as leverage.
Thing is, every threat and then not doing it becomes less effective. At some point people won't believe it, same way we stopped believing he would do anything back in 2017. What then? -

@MechaSilvio @IAMAL_PHARIUS
Trump was talking about getting rid of the income tax and funding the federal government through tariffs, which would be a net positive longterm even if it causes significant ripple effects for the global economy. -

I can't say I know exactly what the endgame is myself, but I do think Trump is right that, for the most part, the rest of the world is more dependent on us than we are on them, and leveraging that for more advantageous deals makes sense. -

@ArdainianRight @MechaSilvio @IAMAL_PHARIUS The math just doesnt work, social security isnt fundable with the old tariff rates... or income taxes for that matter and trump is very much going to kick that can down the road again
A full repeal of income taxes isnt realistic with a boring boomer in charge
Im not sure what exactly will happen but something inbetween tariffs for "security"(chips and steel, anti china) or a 1% decrease in income taxes for a 10% tarriff seems most likelye -

@ArdainianRight @IAMAL_PHARIUS @MechaSilvio I just want to make the point tariffs are taxes, they maybe the least evil taxes, but if they airnt used to offset the vile incomes taxes trump should be thrown under a ship in boston habor Ardainian Hebrew Israelite likes this.
