@fluffy @Wyatt I think that the Holocaust officials don't talk about the Sonderkommando as much because it is a bad look that Jews helped the Germans to kill other Jews. They say they were forced, but they could have refused and faced punishment. Wouldn't it be better to die than to kill your own people?

it would not be the first time that a criterion has been a posteriori selected in such a way as to provide desired results. it's actually a pretty mundane rhetorical sleight of hand. that is, if this is what's happening.
anyway it's pretty strange. i am not some expert scholar in the field, with my knowledge being limited mostly to handful of books and documents. still, one should think that i should have heard of sonderkommando. however, i recall no mention of them at all. wikipedia seems to indicate that they were imprisoned jews who were tasked with massacring other prisoner.
so of course the choice of this particular population sample is a problem from a statistical position.
