@s2208 @Bad_Banner They were told for years that no one would stop them if they crossed. More, if they came, the feds would pay them. That was the big deal on Day 1; they were all holding up their phones outside the border showing the .gov website rejecting them.
It's two things: they were all given free money ($5,000/month) plus jobs and housing. That stopped Day 1. And if they're caught, they're sent back.
No longer worth the trip.
