@mntmn will gnome take a lot of screen space by its dock and status bar?

@RyukaZou there is no dock by default. the dock is normally only on the overview screen (when pressing super or moving the mouse to the hot corner)

so far it's a lot of fun! with gnome-control-center + gnome-tweaks + extension-manager one can customize this thing like there's no tomorrow... i already have all my shortcuts back, like:
- super+f for fullscreen
- super+enter for terminal
- super+left/right mouse to move/resize windows
- super+shift+s/x for screenshots
i also have a neat taskbar (that works better than waybar) using "dash to panel" and a tray with "appindicator and kstatusnotifieritem support". -

it's cool that there's even split resize functionality for two windows that occupy the left+right halves of the screen. and i like that there's a lot of interactivity in many places, like context menus in the task bar, on window titles etc.

@mntmn I've been having issues with gnome on the rk3588 both pocket and classic. Occasionally when closing a window it just freezes. Sometimes it unfreezes and continues after 10 seconds, usually it's a hard reboot. Other than that it's been awesome on rk3588 and my reforms.

@mntmn Found out the lockup issue with gnome was the "burn my windows" extension. Makes sense as it adds fancy effects to window animations and I only had issues when closing windows. Never tried it on earlier SoMs as I didn't want to add overhead with effects.
3D cube works without issue though so I'm happy.
