People like to praise 'smart tech' for being so easy to use that even toddlers can use tablets. But that's not a good thing IMO.

@cowanon I am of 2 minds. On the one hand, making something hard to use is rarely the goal. On the other a lot of this supposed "smart tech" could be just as easy as it is without syphoning your data. I think aside from building/installing WLED is pretty easy to use, and it runs on esp32s with no need for access to interwebs. Why then do all smart bulbs need to phone home?
I do think there is such a thing as too easy. That is usually somewhere around the point where critical (to me) features are sacrificed for simplicity.
