@MK2boogaloo @jimmybuffettfanaccount Germans used free corps which were essentially mercs without pay. Just dudes who formed militas for the sake of ideals. But a lot later were incorporated into the main national force. Italy used volunteer black shirt militas, again, these were idealists, they weren't really paid or doing it for money. Their only similar to mercs in the sense they were irregulars and apart from the traditional force. New Janny in Town likes this. -

@MK2boogaloo @jimmybuffettfanaccount Unfortunately, which this is one of the things i really don't like about nazi germany despite having no problem with calling myself a national socialist, the third reich would later describe friekorp groups as terrorists due to their association with some reactionary groups. @Bunsen @MK2boogaloo @jimmybuffettfanaccount I think strasserists had some plans that were smarter than hitlers that would have probably resulted in the war starting much later at the least, but hitler overall was smarter and less of a sperg than all of them on most other things. It wouldn't have ended well. Like the fuckers would be trying to collectivize and nationalize the industry all the while dealing with the west amd i doubt they'd succeed in any of their reaching out to the soviets. Stalin killed old nazbols including the leader of the russian fascist party who tried to return to Russia by going public about a "change in heart", after tricking him, they had him executed, i don't think he'd stop at his own people. The fall of Berlin, I'm sorry to say, was probably inevitable. i don't think any alt history speculation can change that. New Janny in Town likes this. -

At best, he would have seen a friendly germany as an "in" and try to exert influence over it. Germanys only choices would be fold to their whim or push back. I'll leave it to your imagination how that would have gone and we already know how germanys appeals to the rest of the west went. New Janny in Town likes this. -
