i dont even pay taxes for my local public schools because we need to lower teacher's pay (i've always said this). those who know my doordash business expense hack know i have many tricks to avoid paying taxes. here's how i avoid school district taxes:
1. i tell my employer not to withdraw the local school district taxes "ill deal with it when i file my return".
2. i make a one time donation to a private school's scholarship grant organization. depending on your gross income and your local taxes you want to aim for anywhere from $200 to $600. ex: if your gross income is $50,000, I'd recommend a $250 donation. but you should definitely check your latest return to see what you paid in school district tax for a good estimate.
3. they send me an acknowledgement letter certified by my state and recognized as a charitable donation.
4. tax season comes and i file this letter as a state tax credit to compensate for the public school district expense. (if you're lucky you can get it as a federal credit too but it's hit or miss especially if you're married.)
it never comes out to a dollar for dollar match because school districts always pulls numbers out of their ass but it's okay. i overshoot the donation because i'd much rather have my money go to a private school than some nameless sheboon smoking crack in a public school and their faggot teacher. now lower the teacher's pay to $5 an hour!!!- New Janny in Town likes this.
