"A roman held the spear that stabbed Christ" is like saying the prison guard who escorts the man wrongfully convicted on death row to the chair is responsible for frying him
Now imagine if that guard did not do his job that himself, the entire facility, the warden, and the head of the institution leading up to the regional administrator would all be punished by the state for not executing that innocent man
- Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks likes this.

@wgiwf a lot of people don't know or are too naive or stupid to understand that the jews basically gave pilate and his men an ultimatum. You either kill the Christ, or we petition caesar to roll in, this was after they'd already caused pilate to be on thin ice with him. It would have spelled the death of pilate and who knows how many for not being able to reign in the jews. Pilate tried desperately to convince them that Jesus was innocent and had committed no crime worthy of execution by the state, and instead the jews demanded that an actual convicted criminal be let go and in his place put the Son of Man for telling the jews what they needed to hear about their own wickedness and more importantly their salvation

@sharutiaburaddofouren The guilt lies upon those who wrongfully condemned him and who knew that he was innocent and did so anyway.
Matthew 27:24–25
So when Pilate saw that he was gaining nothing, but rather that a riot was beginning, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this man's blood; see to it yourselves.” And all the people answered, “His blood be on us and on our children!” Then he released for them Barabbas, and having scourged Jesus, delivered him to be crucified.
This is nothing but slander against Saint Longinus and talmudic obfuscation of the jews role in the crucifixion.
