     @aral I raised the point of getting a fediverse instance with our university comms team because twitter is so toxic, and the response was that mastodon has no moderation and it's not secure.🙃

     @aral Will I appreciate your position, I think you'd have been more powerful with a less direct invective. "I do not want to be associated with that platform or its current owner" plays more to high ground. Everyone knows the reason but his loyal fans can't attack it as easily.
