32 bit computers are obselete by a lot of metrics but I would like to say there are several advantages to using a 32 bit laptop;
1. No intel management engine backdoor
2. End of the line 32 bit pcs like atoms have amazing battery life and even performing heavy tasks on them will not decrease the battery life by much
3. They are dirt cheap, sometimes even free...
4. If you get a netbook one, they fit in a lot of spaces.
There are a couple disadvantages imo.
1.The need to compile a lot of applications from source. (Could also be seen as an advantage as you can audit your downloaded code to make sure no sus shits in the binary)
2.Limited to 4 gigs of ram
3.Cuckflare hates 32 bit machines. Half of sites will never load the cloudflare check even when spoofing user agents
I think its worth it now. Though right now I did have to uninstall my xorg setup to install a development package to compile a tui for sites like thid.

@waff When will we get good ARM laptops
-
@Yoruka never. Itll always be hampered by locked down bootloaders and third parties using it as a way to restrict user freedom
-
@Yoruka damn must be some shitty cells.
-
@waff most laptops dont Last longer then 4 hours on battery and my acer craptop not even an hour, the battery is damaged withing 3 years of use
-
@Yoruka well i didnt know it was an acer. I got one of those classy toshiba netbooks from the 2010s
-
@waff what would you expect from acer
-
@Yoruka system76 used to be pretty good. Idk the generation of cpu never seemed to be an issue with me as linux always made speed a non-issue. For fucks sake my main rig is a sandy bridge and I can handle playing minecraft at 120+ fps with obs recording it.
