   Pixelfed exists today because of @nlnet's vital support since 2019.

   Their grants helped build our ethical photo-sharing platform from the ground up.

   The EU must continue funding #FreeSoftware projects, as we have proven, they can be hugely popular and shift the control back to the people, where it belongs.

     @pixelfed @nlnet hey I'm a new user on Mastadon and an American but I love the concept of government sponsored or supported open source projects aligned with the interest of those governed. We don't have much of that in America. Idk if this is the place to be political but I think we would call that socialist here and it would be frowned upon by some in that light. To me that is strange, and it makes me wonder what other aspects of a logical society get put in a box that makes it taboo here. Ty!

     @pixelfed @EUCommission you fund everything with billions left and right, and that you don't find 27 million for free software is bizarre. Funding should increase to >100 million for free software as there are so many great projects with talented developers on the mission to do amazing work. And so much more could exist. It is best value for the money.
