     @doskel emacs for whatever reason enforces space for tabbing. I don't know how to configure it to not do that so I just roll with it whenever I'm not using acme

     @nyanide @doskel Most of the tab-only configurations are mode-specific so I can't provide any general advice.
     
     indent-tab-mode allows it to go mixed, instead of only spaces.
