oh that's unusual. I'm looking into the 1996 Microforum game SoulTrap, and it turns out it uses MFC.
Unusual for a video game, especially one with a fullscreen Direct3D interface!

oh god, are they rendering win32 GUI BEHIND the direct3d window? so when you go to click on the buttons, it's hitting the win32gui GUI underneath?
found leftover bits from a beta:
{
1, "Slave labour: Dale Darling, Attila Szabo, Mircea Costeiu, Witold Gajewski, Cocky, Adrian Sampaleanu and many other poor souls."
2, "SoulTrap"
3, "/cSOULTRAP (Release)\n/cbeta v 3.0\n/c(c) 1996 Microforum Inc."
4, "Thank you for testing the beta version \nof Microforum's SOULTRAP."
}
The main menu and the dialog box that's actually being manipulated
The game is powered by RenderWare 2.0
I found a site about renderware 2.0. last updated 1998
