     @rat @fiore @amalthea the first time i installed arch on physical hardware i got the damn thing to boot then it was just a matter of installing x and pulseaudio, and all of the other tools I needed. How do people struggle with the arch installation process

     @amalthea @fiore you just need to try installing arch for the first time and spend a day crying while reading archwiki on your phone because you dont have a working computer then you'll know everything and never have issues with linux again

     @rat @fiore @amalthea like maybe if you're technically inept (like i was when i tried installing arch in a VM in like 2020, I was a windows nerd) you'll struggle because you don't know what the word partition means but after actually learning a bit more about how a computer functions (and how a hard disk is set up in general lmao) you'll go through the process in like an hour with no hassle, and eventually grind it out
     a dozen or two dozen times and get the entire thing done in 20 minutes tops

     @rat @amalthea @fiore arch literally just has a script called arch-chroot in its installer that does that automatically, its quite a godsent cause i can never remember which one needs what option like -rbind and such

     @fiore @amalthea as long as oyu dont use archinstall you gotta do everything manually chroot style and shit no scripts allowed for the first time, then you can just use whatever distro you want after that
