   I decided to upgrade to a Roku Voice Remote Pro, because it's the model with an internal battery and USB-C charging. I thought this made sense because I'm always using the headphone option on my remote, but it kills the batteries real fast, and swapping rechargables from the remote to the charger is a pain.

   turns out I got sent the Roku Voice Remote Prop (2nd edition), which is exactly like the original except THEY DROPPED THE HEADPHONE PORT

     I could just upgrade my TV with a soundbar that supports bluetooth but then I need to manage the batteries in my headphones.

     I went and checked to see if they did the thing where you can use an adapter to get audio out of the USB-C.
     Nope, they just tell you to use the mobile app

     @foone Aside from switching to the more common USB-C connector for charging, is there anything actually better about the v2? My parents have the v1 and use the headphone feature a lot to watch television while one of them is asleep.

     @foone The whole thing with the Roku remote and control system is it is so simple you can navigate it by touch. My Sony remotes are the exact opposite, having like 60 buttons for every possible feature.

     @foone So, what are you going to do? It looks like the voice remote pro v1 is still broadly available NIB on eBay and it shipped with a bunch of other Rokus which are now going for sale almost as cheap.

     Meanwhile, I'm pretty sure Jellyfin is one of the best. Funny how stable and fast it is compared to all the for-profit streaming services on their ecosystem...
