     @DW2 @d0c40r0 in a healthy system they're good, modern medicine has some incredible stuff in it. you don't gotta be smart to be a doc, just good at memorizing shit
     
     i work with docs all day and never see one outside my 9-5. if i can't patch myself up with ACE wrap, superglue, NSAIDs and rubbing alcohol i ought to be put down like a lame horse

     @DW2 @Paultron @d0c40r0 Like with any other profession, you should not trust doctors blindly either. Similar to everybody else they often just follow routine, have to go by insurance companies' policies, and they recommend treatments and medications that make them money.
     
     Reasonable exercise, eating healthy, being in nature, and basic hygiene will get you most of the way to health.
     
     Having yearly blood tests, esp as one gets older is recommended, just so you know where things are.

     @DW2 I have seen more than one shrink gaslight someone into destroying friendships and familial relationships over trivial shit like wrongthink.
     They are expert level manipulators who talk you to the brink of self actualization and then yank you back into neuroses (because if you actually do get better, they lose a paypig).
     They are the jannies of mental health.
