   It's good to see, as someone who often launches the BizHawk metaemulator a few hundred times a day, that while I've been off in Last-Good-Version (2.4) land, the mainline version has finally addressed my second biggest complaint, that it takes too long to start up.

   They've made it take EVEN LONGER!

     @bug Memory protection. They did some nonsense where they try to keep you from changing the RAM of a game while it's running. This is probably good for stopping people from cheating at speedruns but it really fucks me off as I'm not speedrunning, I'm hacking games.

     It has tools for editing RAM, all the Archipelago clients for games run via Bizhawk use them to implement their randomizer stuff, in conjunction with patching ROMs. It may be that they made it harder to do with external tools that don't call into the Lua API, though

     @chocobo13 @bug correct. I can no longer use my external tools to edit the ram on the fly, I'd have to do it manually with their built in tools or write an internal Lua script
