   @dmarti I bring this up every chance I can get, but in Broken Arrow (1996), John Travolta's supervillain character steals nuclear weapons and holds Utah ransom, to get enough money to buy a 5% stake in Volvo and live the rest of his life off the dividends.

   This is literally the plot of the movie.

     the line about "sitting on a beach earning 20 percent" implies that Hans Gruber and his associates were planning to start a venture capital firm if all went well for them...right?

     (standard VC arrangement is they keep 20 percent of the gains from the fund)
