They are not. This is not Pleroma's bug: Pleroma is working as designed.
> soapbox while looking a bit nice breaks constantly in tor,
Soapbox is just a Twitter clone UI developed by Gab and ported to Pleroma by Gleason, though he seems to have been unable to fix the bugs. The reason it breaks over Tor is that basically every Soapbox instance lives behind Cloudfed.† top dog :pedomustdie: likes this. -
pistolero (p@fsebugoutzone.org)'s status on Sunday, 22-Dec-2024 07:08:56 JST pistolero Because of his compulsive use of Cloudfed, it is impossible to tell when something is shit because it's Gleasonware or because his self-inflicted MitM attack is fucking things up. In this case, it appears to be both: a couple thousand stupid goddamn Nostr dipshits (or, more likely, bots run by dipshits) were following FSE's *relay*, including that irritating "Oh, I removed the ?si= from your post" dipshit bot. (Said dipshit is behind a Nostr-Fedi relay that IS A GODDAMN TRACKING APPARATUS per the GODDAMN BLOG OF THE GODDAMN COMPANY THAT GODDAMN RUNS IT and I'd like to convey this to him but I deactivated that retard. Anyone that wants to convey to @c558c7cc69bbda3c271782b736babc64acd2da258b14f356dbca966cb0b7b89e that he's chosen the most retarded way to run his retarded spambot and that I will raise his face's awareness of the back of my hand right after I spend some time at his mom's house raising awareness about my dick, feel free.)
Anyway, that meant that every single public post resulted in 2k attempts to deliver to individual mostr.pub inboxes (this is why Gleason's shit is always broken, he never thinks about what he is doing), and all of those requests timed out because Cloudfed hates FSE and it *especially* hated FSE federating over Tor.
Now that FSE is somewhat bandwidth-constrained (just during the Recovery Period, probably just a few months if I don't get Revolver out the door before that), I'm not going to waste time trying to make decent software (Pleroma) try to cope with Gleasonware. mostr.pub jobs dropped from the oban queue, mostr.pub accounts following the relay have involuntarily unfollowed it, and routes to the stupid bridge have been eliminated, including 68.183.48.167, the DigitalOcean droplet hosting mostr.pub, and the oban queue is now back around 100 with spikes near 300 instead of hovering just below 5,000.
I will now resume bringing back media.fse if that's all right with Oban and the new crop of pedo domains that have arrived. (PROTIP: you can't get rid of them by getting their domain revoked. They just get new domains, and then I have to ice the same accounts on the new domains: you don't stop them, you don't even discourage them, you just create work for the people that are trying to keep CP off the goddamn timeline. The only thing that actually gets them to go away is dropping their dox, and anything short of that is just you creating a pain in my ass, fuck you.) Once that's back up, I'll see about Fedilist and then, if I'm lucky and nobody does anything fucking stupid again, I will be able to resume hacking on Revolver and I will never have to do any more admin shit again. -
frogzone@wizard.casa's status on Sunday, 22-Dec-2024 07:08:56 JST frogzone @p pretty sure pleroma, akkoma are designed to break, or slow tor, and soapbox while looking a bit nice breaks constantly in tor, to the point it is unusable. never been able to use that stuff. anyway i have almost no idea about the problem ur experiencing right now except for the fact that yeah, the sooner dipsh!ts learn to block the CAGeMAFIA the sooner the internet gets fixed.
stay well

>pretty sure pleroma, akkoma are designed to break
The only thing I could describe as designed to break is the DB schema which has an index and data bloat issue that cannot be fixed without drastically changing how everything works and the DB timeouts that are very optimistically low. And to defend lain, he probably had no idea Pleroma would grow to these sizes when designing it ~7 years ago. That's about it.
On the other hand Gleason broke Pleroma's code multiple times. The momostr bridge dev also fucked up implementing AP in a sort of funny way: https://git.freespeechextremist.com/gitweb/?p=fse;a=blob;f=lib/site/mrf/gleason_is_a_fucking_idiot.ex
