   Google finally did it. Is it time to switch to Firefox? I believe users should be in control of what they can install and use on their desktop or laptop. There's uBlock Origin Lite, which replaces the original uBlock Origin for Chrome and similar browsers. Give it a try.

     @nixCraft Chromium should still support it. Try Brave unless you have issues with using it.

     @nixCraft Vivaldi isn't perfect, but seems to do a decent job (and uBlock Origin still works even though it's chromium based)

     @nixCraft I've used Firefox as my main browser for quite a while now. Still have Chrome installed but I very rarely use it.

     I never left the Mosaic, Netscape, Firefox line of developments. And quite happy with that. Since 1993.

     personally i haven't tested, but worth mentioning.

     chromium is developed by google. however, mozilla takes google's money to develop firefox. maybe firefox based is less worse, but there is still google's money and influence somehow.

     @nixCraft Why use broken version of the plugin when you have Firefox? Don't like Firefox - try Brave, it blocks most of the ads with no extensions and works great with YouTube.

     @nixCraft My theory is that, when it comes to buy a product of an established type, if available, choose the second best brand. The market-leading best brand will mix some crappy aspects as long as they think they won't cost them the market-leading position. The second-best brand, on the other hand, doesn't usually affort that and will usually keep away from the crap factor as much as possible (unless the 'crap' is a market's de-facto standard).

     @nixCraft YouTube discovered my unlock origin on Firefox yesterday. What really made me mad was the fact that a big corporation thinks it has the right to examine my computer. If I wanted that I would use windows

     @nixCraft is ungoogled chromium still a thing? I'm told chrome-based browsers have better sandboxing/site isolation than firefox-based (especially on mobile). Adding the container tabs/even more extensions likely harms privacy more than it helps 🥺

     Firefox, uBlock, NoScript, and Privacy Badger. Does require juggling some settings, but generally can get everything to work.

     @nixCraft i use Firefox-ESR (Extended Support Release) + uBlock Origin.

     I like ESR cause its rock stable, and on ublock added the experience on the web its unmatched
