It’s interesting to me that the whole male to female ratio topic in gacha games have become so prevalent in recent years.
A lot of it definitely has to do with the fact that people who find it as a problem only got into gachas after Genshin and only stay to games that are similar to Genshin.
The way I see, top rarity male characters in games that are mainly filled with women tend to be very good in terms of gameplay, and the ones that aren’t, the devs put a lot of effort to make them better after release, see Zhongli, Passenger in Arknights, and Nuevelite (referring to the first point), so from my perspective, it’s actually a good thing that gachas release less male characters than female because that means they’ll have more time to cook better. Whereas for female characters getting more releases they are more likely to get some duds along the way.
