   GitHub hasn't explicitly stated how it'll use data from the free tier copilot code completion AI account. Let me tell you, they'll use data from you to collect all your code and data to train their shity AI further. Now, most blogs, forums, and many repos are blocking freeloaders like Github, so they need more data to train their shity AI. You are the product when it is free ;) Just remember that. It is now your choice

     It is not like it matters to Microsoft. People pay for MS Office and Windows, yet they trick people into giving out all their data. That is how you build trillion-dollar corporations. Steal from everyone. Don't pay people for their hard work. It is the oldest trick in the book.

     Many terminals and GUI-based text and code editors such as Vim, Geany, Eclipse, Emacs, and other open-source IDEs respect your data and privacy. They will not steal your files. Stick with them if you value your privacy and safety. Anything that Microsoft touches should be avoided, like the plague.

     @nixCraft what’s a better alternative to GitHub and Microsoft word? Libreoffice writer is great but doesn’t catch grammatical errors as well.

     @nixCraft They can collect code from my open source repos whether I use Copilot or not. Copilot isn't the problem; GitHub is.
