According to all known laws of the Unix operating system, there is no way tmux should be able to run after the users login shell has been killed. The SIGHUP (“hang-up”) signal is used to report that the user's terminal is disconnected, perhaps because a network or telephone connection was broken. The tmux, of course, runs anyway because tmuxs don't care what Unices think is impossible.
