Foone🏳️⚧️ (foone@digipres.club)'s status on Friday, 13-Dec-2024 09:43:59 JST Foone🏳️⚧️ maybe I should get them to hire me as official hardware shitposter, instead of whatever boring real job that were gonna have me do.
Just give me a ton of your hardware, spare parts, all the docs you can manage, a reliable 3D printer*, and a large stipend to buy dumb things, and I'll shitpost the fuck out of your laptops

Foone🏳️⚧️ (foone@digipres.club)'s status on Friday, 13-Dec-2024 09:53:15 JST Foone🏳️⚧️ besides the shitposts I can guarantee you'd sell at least a couple hundred of the laptops with built in Greaseweazle and/or DomesdayDuplicator.
A 2024 laptop that can natively read floppy disks and laserdiscs? Archivists are already looking at their budgets to make sure they can afford one when it comes out -
sapphic giant mecha pervert (tallestgoose@urusai.social)'s status on Friday, 13-Dec-2024 10:10:14 JST sapphic giant mecha pervert @foone i know there are a lot of huge laptops but how would you even fit a laserdisc reader/player on one?

Foone🏳️⚧️ (foone@digipres.club)'s status on Friday, 13-Dec-2024 10:10:14 JST Foone🏳️⚧️ @tallestgoose You wouldn't. (although I'm definitely gonna, in the "shitposting hardware" project)
But the hardware to receive raw RF signals from a laptop could be made portable, and you put THAT in the laptop. -
Foone🏳️⚧️ (foone@digipres.club)'s status on Friday, 13-Dec-2024 10:10:51 JST Foone🏳️⚧️ @tallestgoose so you just plug your laptop into the (modded) laserdisc player and now it can capture the signal

Foone🏳️⚧️ (foone@digipres.club)'s status on Friday, 13-Dec-2024 10:30:40 JST Foone🏳️⚧️ @SPAM not exactly! my understanding is that to capture VHS with a domesday duplicator, you'd need either different hardware or 2/3 of them. VHS has multiple separate RF tracks, whereas laserdisc has one, so you need more capture devices to get all the VHS ones
