   That said, you’re also being unfair on yourself. Owncast is beautifully designed and you’re an excellent designer. It has focus. It does one thing and does it well. Form follows function. It’s single tenant. That’s a radically bold move for a web app. You make the hard design decisions. You know how to say “no.” That’s design. Most folks just fetishise decoration.

     @tychi I'd be able to do so much more with my life if I had the visual eye @aral has. I'm pretty stuck due to a significant lack of design sense. It's hard to build things for people if nobody wants to look at what you're trying to build.

     @gabek ultimately, i’ve found people always want to rice. visual design is as subjective as music. even awarding winning pieces become passe when new styles/genres emerge.

     all i know is @aral blew my mind when using a green screen for overlaying comments into his stream

     Everyone tells me that Owncast needs to look "nicer" but nobody has once told me what that means or what they'd prefer.
