   More electronic devices should be sold in transparent plastic cases.
   Not just because that was an awesome 90s thing that we've somehow lost, but because it helps me get an early start on reverse engineering if I don't even have to open (or buy) the thing to see what kind of circuits it has inside

     this one has USB but you can't make it ignite using the USB, as the USB is just for charging.

     I think that's shortsightedness. it should enumerate as a USB printer, and let you print things to it to cause fires.

     I already have a keyboard that starts fires, I've thought about building another (thermite!) but I really want a printer that starts fires.

     on purpose, I mean. my 3d printer hopefully won't start any

     @websterleone I've actually got a punchcard duplicator that will do that if you set it to max speed and run out of ammonia coolant

     @foone Use a laser engraver on paper with too slow a cut/feed rate. Have a very fast fan to blow out the fire so the letters are scorched into the paper.

     @Pyxaron good point. I should take one of my existing thermal printers and see if I can give it more juice until the paper leaves the printer scorched and on fire

     @foone If I were an indie electronics developer demoing my device at an expo or w/e i'd have it in clear plastic but the PCB with the fun chips bit would be in the back and covered with a massive sticker with a message like:
     "nuh uh :3 top secret"
     and anyone peeling at it would find there's another massive sticker INSIDE that's just this:
