@nixCraft I got an email a year ago today, that was of a scammer that sent me pages and pages and pages worth of yapping about how he’s hacked my cameras on my computers and then how he’s going to sell videos of me jerking off and along the way he’s giving me helpful tips in a friendly tone. He wanted bitcoin but he was also trying to make it negotiable. I wish more than anything I had recorded that email, but my friend group and I read it together and we were all laughing hysterically 🤣🤣
@nixCraft Slackware used to install without a root password. You were expected to have half a brain and give it one after. Still obviously a bad practice by today's standards and yeah it changed decades ago.
I thought I didn't give a shit until my computer started beeping and I realized someone was trying to start a screen session with me.
After I set a root password I started doing what that guy did...just trying everyone's telnet port in the #c++ channel on IRC.
