after trying a lot of stuff and years of using notmuch-emacs i've switched to evolution as my email client program, which, after turning off the outlook-like UI, works great for me (i always have to delete and filter tons of mail quickly to stay afloat). though i've heard some rumblings about evolution's future that make me wonder if it's going to stick around. or is that only about gnome's tight evolution integration which might go away? any plans that can be shared? cc @tbernard

There are multiple people working towards new, from-scratch email clients using GTK4 and modern design patterns, but none of those are close to shipping at the moment.
