@monsterislandcolonizer I think about this dynamic a lot sometimes. I often use that line “today’s problems only seem impossible because they don’t have a face you can punch” but I stole it from my G-Grandfather. He had a point that as things became increasingly satanic and hedonistic, he’d appreciate living without the same temptations. He foresaw how easy it would be to completely fall into ruin when sin lies at every fingertip.
Every year it’s only gotten more prescient. He made that prediction back when VHS tapes and car phones were coming out, when kids would only see a lady’s bush when they found the right hollowed out tree stump full of playboys in an empty lot behind the school.
Now, when you have more privacy than ever, and every screen is a portal into levels of degeneracy seldom seen for thousands of years. With institutional support, perhaps all the more satanic b/c therapists will seduce people further into sin under the auspices of wellness) I get why gramps was glad to have missed out on this era of human development.
