I forget Arkenfox by default is designed to be the most insufferable config ever made.

Never used it myself. What's wrong with it? -
atlas_core (atlas@hollow.raccoon.quest)'s status on Monday, 02-Dec-2024 08:51:59 JST atlas_core @dushman it disables lots of annoyances and enables lots of privacy features, all by itself, which is great and why I keep using it.
The thing that pisses me off the most, is it prioritizes paranoid privacy over convenience/usability; it disables search suggestions, browser history, storing cookies after a restart, among other things. Surprisingly never really had an issue with RFP beyond "ah fuck I have to install Dark Reader because nothing is in dark mode and this shitty app doesn't have a manual toggle" or "no, it is not currently midnight (it fucks up timezones on purpose)"Dushman likes this. -

I just use Tor Browser when I wanna go paranoid mode. ungoogled-chromium as my main browser for everyday stuff. -

Yeah I use ublock, cad and a custom config. It's more stable and faster than FF, I even tested it. -

I also have a pi hole setup for blocking ad/tracking domains on my home network -
atlas_core (atlas@hollow.raccoon.quest)'s status on Monday, 02-Dec-2024 22:34:59 JST atlas_core @dushman I remember having set up something like that in my house. Everyone complained that they couldn't use their apps. At least now I can just add a DNS-over-HTTPS setting on my devices to Mullvad's ad blocking, privacy DNS, that works shockingly well, even blocking Meta stuff on a Meta Quest.

My "pi hole" is a custom job on a used thinkcenter I found in an ewaste pile lol, I just slapped a cheapo SSD in it and installed Alpine. It fetches results randomly from a list of good DNScrypt/DoH servers and filters them with my hosts file that has an auto update script I made to pull from a few different sources.
